I first studied at the University of Pretoria, where I completed my BSoc Sci degree, specialising in psychology and criminology. I continued at the University of Pretoria and completed my BSoc Sci: Honours Degree in psychology. I went on to complete my MSc :Clinical Psychology Degree at the University of Limpopo (MEDUNSA Campus). My Internship and community service year was completed at the Dr George Mukhari Hospital and at the Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital. Following my registration as a Clinical Psychologist in independent practice, I worked as an associate in a well established private practice before branching out to the Military context. During my time working as a psychologist for the Department of Defense, I gained unique experience and exposure to numerus difficulties facing adults and the children of the South African troops. Following my time in the Military I joined the South African Police service where I worked in the internationally acclaimed Investigative Psychology Unit. Over the years that I worked for the Investigative Psychology Section, I was exposed to a vast variety of human behavior, and gained knowledge that very few psychologists, possess. All the while I ran a therapy based private practice after hours in order to immerse myself in the field, gaining all round expertise that few other psychologists can boast. Since leaving the police I have been in full time private practice while consulting at the Medstep stepdown clinic. My private practice is situated in Groenkloof in Pretoria and my website address is www.pretoriapsychologist.com

I understand that although there are similarities between people and their difficulties, there are no two identical situations. As such, I treat each client, and each session, with the focus and the drive needed to understand each individual’s situation in its entirety, from their unique perspective. Fully understanding an individual’s world enables an accurate and effective focus on the most pertinent elements of his or her difficulty, enabling the most effective and long lasting therapeutic change to be achieved.
